Who are The Muckers?

I started doing music journalism in 2017 because I was a broke 20-something and wanted to attend concerts for free. My buddy Shaun Krisher was doing concert photography and needed a writer for a blog he was shooting for at the time. He asked me to write some words to get into concerts as press, and that’s how I got into music journalism. One of the first bands I wrote about was The Muckers, Atlanta’s premiere Irish folk punk band. I wrote about one of their first gigs as a band at the Masquerade. I’ve since seen them grow as a band and become the hot booking for the St. Paddy’s Day season. The Muckers play both original and cover songs that highlight the heritage of Irish folk music through a punk lens. The main man behind the band is Jeff Shaw who leads his merry band of misfits. They recently did a tour in Alaska and are the house band for the Stone Mountain Highland Games every year at Stone Mountain Park outside Atlanta.
