Bonnaroo Wednesday Pre-Party Artist Spotlight

I’m over the moon to share that the 2024 Artist of the Day series isn’t over! Thanks to some Bonnaroo magic, a long-standing dream of mine has come true, and over the next few days, I’ll introduce you to more artists who I hope you’ll come check out on the Farm.

The first live music I produced was a single-day free festival in my Cabbagetown Atlanta neighborhood in 2022. Daniel Shapiro who runs the Troy Speakeasy venue in Troy, New York, partnered with me to create the event. We’d met at Bonnaroo earlier that year when we happened to set up camp next to each other. Shapiro has a mobile Tiny Van stage that he set up at Bonnaroo to host a myriad of artists in my camp’s front yard.

Next, I booked and promoted an amphitheater show in Cabbagetown Park on 4/20/23 as part of the area’s long-running concert series. I’d applied the learnings from that first event, and the show was well-attended and well-received. Later in June, my fever dream of producing a bootleg event to support the King Gizzard Cavern’s Residency Shows was realized. Once again, Shapiro was right there with me to run sound with the Tiny Van.

In 2024, I ran into Matt Chapman from the Bonnaroo SqueakSquad groop at The Eastern venue. That chance meeting blossomed into collaborating to plan the Bonnaroo Wednesday Pre-Party for 2024, where we’ve booked several amazing artists, including some of my favorites from Atlanta. And to bring the Bonnaroo magic full circle, after two years camping next to each other at Bonnaroo, Shapiro’s Tiny Van is part of the official Bonnaroo programming.

Consider this your official invite to the Bonnaroo Wednesday Pre-Party kicking off at 11:30 AM. Come back tomorrow to meet our first featured pre-party artist.
