ALPHA 9- Final Frontier
B4DFRi3ND & RYL0- F4r from Perf4ct
Chicago-bred, Los-Angeles-based alternative pop project B4DFRi3ND is an experiment in amorphous identity. Spearheaded by the artist formerly known as Melo Makes Music (who has collaborated with names such as Ravyn Lenae, Kweku Collins, and Taylor Bennett), B4DFRi3ND is both a solo act and an interdisciplinary collective.
Now, B4DFRi3ND returns with their new single, “F4r from Perf4ct,” a collaboration with rising alt-pop singer/songwriter RYL0, who has dominated 2022 with inclusions on Spotify’s New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, and Hyperpop playlists, and songs with artists such as Fraxiom, Sabby Sousa, and DJ Re:Code. This is the second song between the two innovators, following B4DFRi3ND‘s remix of RYL0‘s “I’m In Love (With You)“.
Beat Awfuls- Interstate Skeletons
Beat Awfuls announces a new LP, PAWS, due Feb. 10, 2023. The first single on PAWS is “Interstate Skeletons,” a saturated mid-tempo track that delivers hard-won insights into abuse, all while testing and teasing its own pop sensibility. Playful synths and Casio drum fills contrast the cutting angles of the guitar riffs, giving the track a heightened energy. With lyrics like, “why do people even promise to be vulnerable and honest,” we hear Vicini process his trauma while he searches for something shiny through the dark.
Begonia- Cold Night
“Cold Night,” the new single from Begonia—the solo project of alt-pop Canadian artist Alexa Dirks—premieres today with an accompanying video directed by Tyler Funk; listen HERE and watch HERE. The track is taken from her second studio album, Powder Blue, set for release on February 24 via Birthday Cake Records; pre-save/pre-order HERE.
Behind You- Aries
Eora / Sydney-based punk trio, Behind You, share a noisy new track, ‘Aries’. Behind You have an existing distinct style: guttural vocals, heavily distorted guitars, fuzzy delayed vocals, and unanticipated, cleverly timed drops that dissolve into a hypnotic, pounding bass. ‘Aries’ pushes forward beyond this, leaning further into an industrial tone, adding a mix of percussion that is bare and free of reverb, with moments of stripped-back relentless drones and monotonous vocals in the coda.
Blues Lawyer- Chance Encounters
Oakland band Blues Lawyer joins Dark Entries for their third full-length, All in Good Time, a record of pop-rock songs about living in a world that wants to put your existence on the clock. Today the band shares the first single / video for “Chance Encounters.”
BONDI & Save The Kid – Crystallized
With the critically acclaimed release of his inaugural album single Turning Blind back in September, followed by an incredible flurry of new singles every fortnight since, hotly-tipped German artist and JUNA POLY label boss BONDI now drops his latest collaborative vocal cut, Crystallized.
Bridal Party- Pool
Art-pop quintet Bridal Party share the music video for “Pool”, the second single from their forthcoming LP Cool Down (out on February 15th). This track outlines the joy and challenge of coming out of your shell after periods of isolation. The lyrics of “Pool” were penned by guitarist Joseph Leroux in a demo in early 2019, their mantra-like simplicity inspired by the Porches album of the same name. “I wanted the lyrics to feel potent and understated. They were written with building myself up in mind, in a time when I was looking for a lot of validation from other people. I wanted to remind myself with a song, of the value of choosing yourself and choosing periods of quiet, before coming back into your communities.”
Caroline Polachek- Welcome To My Island
Building off another year of immense critical fanfare and legendary live shows across the world, today Caroline Polachek stakes her claim as a cultural force and pop innovator with the announcement of her new album Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, slated for digital release on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2023. With this news comes Polachek’s statement single, ‘Welcome To My Island‘, from which the album name was born.
Hurry Up Slowly label heads Andrew and Gino Gomez, professionally known as the duo Calussa, team up with two of Colombia’s hottest artists, MOSKA and LA GURÚ, to release ‘Adios.’ Coming off their second Beatport #1 afro house track this year, this release marks the beginning of a new chapter for Calussa, as the brothers explore more euphoric and hypnotic percussive sounds.

Claude VonStroke- Don’t Make Sense
Global house star Claude VonStroke makes a big mark with new single ‘Don’t Make Sense’ out now on Moon Harbour.
‘Don’t Make Sense’ is a deep and seductive house cut with booming kick drums. As they roll down low, a hypnotic vocal refrain repeats the track’s title and prickly percussion adds bite. Over the course of more than six minutes, serene and spaced-out synths weave in and out of this cinematic cut to evocative effect.
Cody Jon- STAGEFRIGHT
Cody Jon, the proliferate bedroom-turned-big project of Lunatic Entertainment’s Saint Lucky Records today shares his latest release, ‘STAGEFRIGHT’.
