Beats Awfuls- PAWS
Beat Awfuls is the artistic vision of Boston expat and musical factotum Dave Vicini.
Drawing from drugs, pop culture, and his personal experience all with a punk rock ethos, Dave dismantles his inspirations until the result is uniquely Beat Awfuls. Like his heroes in The Breeders, The Velvet Underground, and Violent Femmes, his songs range from driving, enigmatic rockers to dark, vulnerable laments. Phyphr- Reaction
Guitarist/producer Phyphr is one of Denver’s most hotly-tipped talents, making waves with his electro-soul stylings and funky, electronic songwriting. Dedicated to inspiring his listeners, the artist has a DIY, self-produced ethos that’s intrinsic to his artistic expression and messaging: for Phyphr, everyone should be empowered to find their passion and make positive change for themselves and the world.
Now, Phyphr releases “Reaction,” a hip-hop-infused electronic cut that stays true to the LP’s central message. In touch with the song’s repeated refrain –“every action causes a reaction” – the song elicits a perpetual call-and-response, both sonically and thematically. The track complements its lyrics with production elements that subside just to give way to new ones, asking the listener to think for themselves: “Will you cause a reaction?”

Supreme Beings of Leisure- 22
This past summer, Supreme Beings of Leisure (SBL)—consisting of original members Geri Soriano, Ramin Sakurai and Rick Torres—reintroduced themselves after a 14-year hiatus with “Full Circle” followed by singles “Contender” and “Body.” Now the band who is synonymous with retro-future West Coast Chill vibe, a sound they helped create in the heyday of trip-hop and mid-tempo electronica at the turn of the century, are preparing for the release of their fourth studio album 22 on February 10, 2023.

This song is about all those impossible feelings, taking inspiration from some of the greats: Chapterhouse, Lush, Ride, and Curve. warner case & Bhaskar- do my own thing
Breakout house producer warner case and Brazil’s leading electronic tastemaker Bhaskar signed to Monstercat today, joining forces for their anticipated first collaboration, “do my own thing.” With a mesmerizing blend of their distinct stylings, the moody pads, addictive groove, and sultry bassline have all the makings of a dancefloor heater set to draw crowds this festival season. While Bhaskar laid the track’s foundation, the lyricism reflects warner case’s journey to self-confidence, reminding listeners to embrace their unique individual path in a world of unhealthy comparison. Fans can look forward to hearing the new record live from Bhaskar at EDC Mexico this month, as well as warner case when he opens for Flight Facilities at 1015 Folsom in San Francisco.
