Aliiias- F*** Right Off
On the heels of delivering “Take Me Home,” the record that sumthin sumthin cites as his “favorite track he’s ever made,” FMU Records strikes again with a hard-hitting single from Canadian producer Aliiias, “Fuck Right Off”. Since launching in December 2022, FMU Records has released one explosive weapon after another with tracks from the likes of Jon Casey, Dabow, sumthin sumthin, as well as the fourth single from her forthcoming debut LP under her enigmatic moniker Whyte Fang. Packing bass-drenched sounds, infectious percussive elements, and a hip-hop-influenced vocal drizzle, the track showcases Aliiias’s unique production technique, creating a thundering banger. “F*** Right Off” is out now via FMU Records.

Over the course of the last two years, AMPERSOUNDS, a new project from French house icon Fred Falke and one of LA’s most beloved DJs, Zen Freeman, has been quietly gaining momentum. A string of buzzed about releases on their Orange label, have featured the likes of Todd Edwards, Macy Gray and Rufus Wainwright, and flitted between floor filling edits and classic original house cuts. Their newest release, Nightdrive, epitomizes what makes AMPERSOUNDS such a potent combo. Swirling 80s styled synths, an effortlessly cool vocal contribution from Mr. Hudson and some LA club magic and glamor.

With lyrics reflecting on anxiety, a topic often unspoken within the realm of dance music, the single has all the makings of a powerful, heartfelt anthem. Flexing ARMNHMR’s dynamic musicality, “Drowning” introduces the forthcoming album’s theme that highlights the human experience as a whole.

In the mid-80s, Maraschino might be the spunky Susan, desperately seeking love in a loveless town or the carefree Nikki Finn (from Who’s That Girl?), accused of murdering her boyfriend but somehow finding a rollicking adventure out of it. Zack Rosen- All In Time
Zack’s songwriting was largely unknown outside a small circle of friends and family. He played about ten Syzygy gigs in small New York City venues, sometimes solo, sometimes with a band that included his friend Connor Grant on guitar. Connor, also a guitarist in Sean Ono Lennon’s band, The GOASTT, is himself a singer-songwriter who goes by the nom d’arte Tongues Unknown, and Zack was his regular bass player and accompanying singer. In 2018, Zack approached Connor about producing his Syzygy project. They were deep into that project at the time of Zack’s death, leaving the record to be finished posthumously. Throughout that process, as Connor combed through Zack’s home bedroom recordings, many more songs were unearthed that no one had heard but Zack.
