Hard Summer 2024 at SoFi Stadium
One of Insomniac’s most popular music festivals, HARD Summer 2024, occurred at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, this past weekend (August 3rd and 4th), with thanks to its partner Live Nation and social media. The weekend curated a fun and long-lasting desire to return to HARD Summer for those who attended, despite neighborhoods surrounding the event not fond of the noise.
The festival has moved more into Los Angeles over the last few years as raving has sparked quite the trend on social media. The influx of ravers has sparked curiosity about whether or not that is why Insomniac has chosen to move this festival from its home at the NOS Center and now into a venue like SoFi. A positive effect is that the venue had the ideal room to avoid congested walkways, which ravers took to social media to complain about in 2023.

HARD Summer is known for its diverse lineup, which is uncommon at other Insomniac festivals; this festival brings artists from rap, pop, lo-fi, and many other genres. This year, that diversity was brought from artists like Nelly Furtado, Tres Channel, and Jaime xx.
Nelly Furtado performed at the main stage, “HARD Stage,” and played her most famous songs, including her newer EDM song with Dom Dolla, “Eat Your Man,” released in 2023.
Aside from the unique artists there for ravers to enjoy, classic EDM artists that bring a dedicated crowd of fans like Zeds Dead, Subtronics, Disclosure, FISHER b2b Chris Lake, and REZZMAU5 left those stages packed and the walkways deserted. There were non-stop fabulous shows with great visuals the whole weekend that left some after Zeds Dead “speechless as always” at the night’s end.
The colors of the festival are purple, pink, green, black, and white, with no mascots to walk around, unlike ESCAPE Halloween, which has paid actors walking around interacting with the attendees. HARD Summer Festival relies on the ravers to bring the flare to the venue in their outfits, totems, and charisma. You can see our favorite totems on our TikTok @TheFestivalVoice!
For the last two years, HARD Summer has given out free popsicles to its attendees within a specific time frame of the festival. It is typically early since the heat of the early sets is prevalent, so “the early bird catches the worm,” or popsicle, in this case! Many ravers love this festival’s interpersonal flare compared to other events Insomniac throws yearly.
Interviewing some of the ravers in the VIP sections of the HARD Summer 2024 stages, they highly recommend the experience! With more room to move and dance compared to the GA pit, there is an “elevated experience” when you decide to go VIP, like AC restrooms, smaller water station lines, concierge, drink lines with seats, and so much more! You can also view our interviews with VIP ticket holders and a tour of the VIP section on our TikTok as well!

While it is a favored festival in Los Angeles, will HARD Summer return to the NOS center in 2025?
There has been quite a controversy from citizens living in the cities near Inglewood where the festival took place or in cities nearby. The bass from the stages was heard in cities as far as “El Segundo and Redondo Beach, reached out with their concerns and complained of migraines and rattling homes,” says ABC7.
For the years HARD Summer has taken place at the NOS Center in San Bernadino, there has never been a noise complaint. NOS is the home to many Insomniac events/ festivals since it isn’t near any residential areas and is more secluded than in the heart of Los Angeles, like SoFi. There isn’t any news yet on where to expect HARD Summer 2025, but there is an excellent speculation plan for its attendance at NOS.
