How to THRIVE at Hard Summer!

Get hyped, grab your squad, and clean those hydro-packs bladders

because Hard Summer is coming in HOTT. Hard Summer is returning to the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino from July 29th-31st for three days of dancing, head-banging, and top-tier vibes! With a lineup featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Zeds Dead B2B Subtronics, Joji, Griz, and many more, there’s no need to talk about how stacked the lineup is. As a long-time Hard Summer veteran let me share my wisdom with ya’ll on how to survive and THRIVE at Hard Summer!

  1. CLEAN THOSE BLADDERS.
Those hydropacks that save you and your crew from dehydration can carry tons of bacteria. Let me ask you, when’s the last time you washed it out thoroughly? Probably a while, if not ever. Warm water with a pinch of bleach, squishing it around your bladder for a few minutes, and once it’s rinsed out throw it in the freezer will not only clean out bacteria but throwing it in the freezer will prevent bacteria from growing.
  2. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.
Do not ever underestimate the sun’s power. You may tan easy (or roast), but sunscreen is your best friend. If you’re not worried about turning red like a lobster (like I do) not putting on sunscreen can lead to premature wrinkles, dry skin, sun spots, and discoloration. Lather that sunscreen on baybay and keep yourself looking young for future festivals.
  3. Earplugs.
You can be 18 years old or 38 years old. Your hearing is important, and you want to be able to hear those wubs, dubs, and nasty wobbles well into your senior years. Eargasms on amazon, stopping by the med tents, or even finding a Ground Controller will have earplugs readily available!
  4. Pashmina or something light to cover yourselves.
It does get hot, and as helpful as sunscreen is it’s definitely helpful to have a covering so you don’t have to constantly reapply. Plus, the right pash or cover up can be super fashionable and look great for dynamic photos.
  5. Be a rave mom or dad. Bring extra essentials.
Tampons, lip balm, bandaids, deodorant (believe it or not), hair ties, and gum will be your best friends or make you friends. It’s awesome knowing that you’re extra prepared but you’re absolutely going to make someone’s experience all that much better.
