HUNJIYA- KHAMAI
“My new album is brimming with themes: Code switching- how you change yourself slightly depending on who you’re with and what is happening. The concept of a chameleon- how the animal changes colors based on what environment they’re in. In this case, I am the chameleon, and my behaviors, feelings, actions, etc. are all changing based on the situation. People give the advice of “being yourself” but they don’t talk about how there’s not just one version of yourself. There’s multiple that add up to who you are. As for the title itself, chameleon comes from the Greek word “khamai” meaning “on the ground, earth” and “leon” meaning “lion” (Hunjiya herself is a leo).

On their new track, drummer Bij Firouzan wrote:
“‘Gettysburg’ is one of those songs that over time became something other than what it was meant to be. Originally a folk song, I wrote it as a birthday gift for two twin brothers who were some of my closest friends that I met in college. It was our first year out and I was missing my life and friends of the last 4 years. I was living at home in Pittsburgh, and that day, the rain was coming down hard through the cold air.

Rogerseventytwo – I Found You
With ‘I Found You’, Rogerseventytwo continues his journey of researching new methods to combine Disco, Indie and House music.
Rogerseventytwo: ‘’After ‘Artificial Love’, ‘Go Back’ and ‘Overboard’ I’m continuing the journey of making the ’00 Indie/Disco/Electro flavor with a pinch of the filtered French touch. As a huge fan, since the start of the early and late French House era I tried to focus on getting that specific feeling back. With ‘I Found You’ I’ve tried to combine the emotional feeling with a powerful drive. Something that’s done a lot in the French scene. I’m lying if I didn’t mention “Demon – You Are My High” as an inspiration for this track. It’s my absolute favorite track of the French era. So much emotion yet so much drive and power without being saturated.’’

Tatum Gale- Poison Darty
Songwriter/producer Tatum Gale shares “Poison Darty,” a brand new single off his forthcoming debut album, Pretty Green (due May 2023).
How do you find yourself again after getting lost in the sauce? “Poison Darty” by indietronica maven Tatum Gale finds getting back to solid ground after a maudlin bacchanal isn’t so simple. A nocturnal spirit and spindly synth emblematize a bender fugue state alongside a charmingly demonic internal monologue by Laura Jinn, creating a hazy space that’s both self-aware and self-indulging—a contradiction all too familiar to anyone who knows it’s getting late, but isn’t ready to head home.

While its core members are veterans of Philly’s hardcore scene via bands such as Kill Verona, No Roses and Shark Attack, Time’s own inspiration and sound is derived from the dark and heavy shoegaze/noise-pop of touchstones such as My Bloody Valentine, Sugar, Swervedriver and Catherine Wheel but with its own blushing melody and shine. Time’s initial release, 2018’s In Decline EP (Low Dose Records), set the foundation for what Hydrangea would build upon: nuanced layers of delayed guitars, lyrically fluid bass progressions and two-part vocal melodies, all anchored to a confidently nimble backbeat.
