Life-Changing Experiences At LIB

Do LaB Announces Complete Music Lineup for 20th Anniversary of Lightning in a Bottle

Just in time, we have the complete music and workshop lineup for the 20th anniversary of Lightning in a Bottle straight from the folks at Do LaB themselves. Waiting for that warmer Cali weather, the festival is taking place Memorial Day Weekend at Buena Vista Lake in Southern California this May 24-29, 2023. In addition to the primary stages – Lightning, Thunder, and Woogie – LIB has long been known for its multitude of creative environments where you can find surprises and learning experiences around every corner. A few of these places to be sure to check out are The Stacks, The Grand Artique, The Junkyard, and The Compass. LIB provides the most extensive diversity of activities, music genres, and thought-provoking discussions that I have ever seen at a festival. This is one you want to bring the whole crew to, especially with 5 whole days to explore it all! LIB is going to be amazing!

Immersive Musical Experiences!

First off, The Grand Artique is one of my favorite areas when it comes to stages and overall environments. It’s like stepping into the wild west, with a hint of mystic magic. There are people dressed up in old western outfits, a talent show, an auction, an old-time shop full of goodies, and buildings and stages that look to be right out of the gold rush. This year, Grand Artique will host jaw-dropping acts from artists like Mindchatter (DJ Set) and Moontricks and many others like Rainbow Girls, Red Giant Project, and Rainbow Girls, Red Giant Project, Marty O’Reilly, Evan Hatfield, and Hello Yes.

Next on the list of things to check out, the Stacks will uphold its tradition as the festival’s bass music community stage and first stop for all of the genre’s new sounds. The stage and line-up are meticulously curated to offer these up-in-coming producers the opportunity to be heard before it’s their time to play the larger stages. This year, The Stacks welcomes rising US talent like Abelation, Kaipora, All:Lo Collective, Thought Process, and TF Marz, as well as Canada’s Mythm, Rohaan, and many more.

The Junkyard is home to a house and techno lineup curated by longtime Do LaB family member and west-coast legend Patricio. The stage line-up is topped by a rare house set from the world-renowned TOKiMONSTA, a special tribute set to fallen community icon Pumpkin, as well as performances from Marquess Wyatt, Shawna, Ben Annand, and more.

Life-Changing Opportunities at LIB!

The Compass, with the theme this year being Yin Phoenix, is packed with the most unique, collaborative, and thought-provoking surprises. The discussions and workshops from visionaries from around the world provide attendees with life-changing skills and lessons to help elevate their everyday life. One of my favorites last year was the discussion from mycologist Paul Stamets on how mushrooms can help save the world, and he is bringing the talk back this year! I would highly recommend catching it if you can. There is also a Psychedelic State of the Union from MAPS, a talk on Womb Care Love with holistic health practitioner and wellness coach Queen Afua, and Tejon Tribe speaking on the Ancestral Homelands of the Tejon. More information about The Compass can be found on LIB’s website!

The musical sets at The Compass include a very special Sunday Service from The Polish Ambassador, and a Lightcode set by LSDream which I had the pleasure of seeing at Gem and Jam and I can assure you that you don’t want to miss it. There will also be sets from Free Creatures, TOOKER, LAAVA, and Little Wolf to name only a few. At the Compass’ Beacon you can catch some calmer sets from artists like Jamie Schwabl, Rob Noble, and Ruby Chase.

These unique environments are just more proof of the LIB team’s commitment to combining music, art, and attendee interaction to create a once-in-a-lifetime magical experience. These different offerings help expand the mind, inspire the soul, and help us all to work together to strive for our best future. On your way through exploring the beautiful offerings integrated throughout the festival, be sure to also check out the yoga and cooking classes, the Jive Joint, Unicorn Palace, The Mixtape, the Rink-a-Dink Roller Rink, Big Leroy’s Karaoke, and so much more.

LIB is The Best Festival You Will Explore All Year!

For those looking to level up their experience, the new VIP options are even better this year! Some of them included in the package are access to the backstage lounges at Lightning, Thunder, and Woogie, refreshments in these areas at exclusive bars, special pop-up interactive experiences, access to the Atlaswyld Beach Club & Bar, and entrance to performances at the elevated Lightning Stage or enclosed Thunder Stage viewing areas. For more info on VIP tickets, visit https://www.libfestival.org/tickets.

As the wonderful curators at LIB said, “20 years ago, a lightning bolt struck and sparked something far greater than anyone could have ever anticipated. Do LaB has created a legacy from the ground up since – one with a loyal community of free spirits chasing the imaginative, boundary-breaking rush felt at its very first celebration. Now it’s time to come together to set the tone for the next 20 years.” I can’t wait to see you all there!
