Lollapalooza Paris: Line up, Ticketing & Travel

Lollapalooza is a fantastic multi-genre music festival that has been traveling the globe for nearly a decade & a half! This year will be Lollapalooza Paris’ third annual event in the world famous city of loveLineups for the previous 2 years were phenomenal and this year is no exception! No matter what genre of music is your favorite, I guarantee there’s someone on this line up you’d like to see!

You’re into Rock?

Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, Judah & The Lion will be there.

Rap & hip-hop?

Migos, Jaden Smith, & $uicideBoy$ will be there.

Soul moving acoustic music?

You won’t want to miss Tash Sultana.

Want to dance your heart out to EDM?

Martin Garrix, Eric Prydz, Alison Wonderland, Gud Vibrations w/ Slugz Music, Gryffin, Kungs, K?D.

While I love EDM I think I’m most excited to see Twenty One Pilots for two reasons; 1) they are from Columbus, Ohio which is basically my backyard & 2) they’re incredibly difficult & expensive to see in concert. Don’t get me wrong though, I am THRILLED for Gud Vibrations w/ Slugz music. NGHTMRE, Slander, & Snails…. TOGETHER?! It’s going to be one for the books!

Tickets

2 day passes are currently   149 euro ($167 US). Single day passes are currently 79 euros ($89 US). There are two levels of VIP tickets; Gold which will cost 429 euros ($481 US)  & Platinum which will cost 779 euros ($873 US). One HUGE thing to keep in mind is that the VIP passes are only single day, NOT 2 day. That’s a hefty price to pay just for a single day, in my opinion. With that being said my travel expenses are most likely drastically more than the majority of people who will likely be attending this festival. Get your tickets here!!

If you’re a foreigner, like myself, you’re probably wondering how the heck you’re even going to get to the festival once you get to Paris. Here’s what recommendations I’ve found. Don’t want to mess with figuring out which train(s) or bus to take? Which stop you need to get off at? You’re in luck! Uber is going to be your simplest mode of transport! New to Uber? Use the code LOLLA2019 for a discount.

Buses & public transportation are very popular throughout Europe, especially in Paris. There are two primary Metro suggestions I’ve found are taking Metro line 1 to to Porte Maillot or Metro line 2 to Porte Dauphine. If you’re considering buying a Paris Visite Travel Pass for visitors these stops are within Zones 1-3 & unless you plan on going to Versailles or Disneyland Paris you wont need to travel outside those zones. They only time you would need to travel outside these zones is to/from the airport if you’re flying in. The Paris Visite Travel Pass allows unlimited trips & transfers on Paris Metro, RER, buses & trams. 2 day travel card runs about $24 USD, & 3 day travel cards are $33 USD. Planning to stay a little longer to explore? 5 day travel cards are about $47 USD. For more info or to buy a travel card you can check this site out.
