Movement Names Goldie as Artist-In-Residence

Movement and 1xRUN have revealed the legendary Goldie as the artist in residence for this year’s edition. During the festival you will be able to catch Goldie creating Love:Detroit live on site at the festival as the days go on. Located at the Pyramid Amphitheater, Goldie will be showcasing his signature graffiti style that’s become so iconic.

“I’m bringing some proper graff to Detroit for Movement Festival”. Gold went on to say “The mural is called Love: Detroit, by yours truly. I’ll be painting my love for this city’s integral musical history, standing on the shoulders of the giants who built it.”

Catch The Exhibition

Outside of Movement, Goldie will debut a special solo exhibition titled Still Life Talking at Spot Lite Detroit on May 23. In Still Life Talking, capturing the balance between motion and stillness, and the essence of life’s fleeting moments. Reflecting on his journey, Goldie states:

“I look at my life as a set of photographs because I was before all of this, the Internet, etc, I knew documenting my life was important. I felt I could get somewhere, I felt I could do something. In the modern age it feels like people’s colour photographs just changed to black-and-white and they don’t really notice over time. I’ve always been about the now, in the present, in the moment. Life moves so fast it looks like it stands still, like a hummingbird, but it’s moving constantly, creating and evolving itself in my slow photograph of time.”
