Louis Futon- Couchsurfing

When experimental electronic producer Louis Futon left his native Philadelphia for Los Angeles, he found himself bouncing between friends’ couches for a year. The experience was one of the best times of his life, with each day bringing new adventures and spaces to explore. And yet, despite the discontinuity of settling into a new city, Futon perceived a common thread between every new place he stayed: he always felt at home. Now, Futon is unleashing Couchsurfing, his sophomore LP that seeks to pay homage to that journey by creating a coherent vibe across a spectrum of sounds.

Josh Pan go with the fire Video

In his first release since his hit collaboration “Supersonic (My Existence)” with Skrillex, Josh Pan delivers “go with the fire” and its accompanying music video. Directed by Dante Marino, Pan’s “go with the fire” music video is available now via 88rising, and serves as the first installment of a 2-part short film. The music video follows its protagonist, a man draped in angel wings, and a woman, his intrepid sidekick. Chronicling various heists performed by the elusive pair, the video sees the man and woman stealing diamond-encrusted watches from a jewelry store to hot-wiring cars. Culminating in one adrenaline packed final scene, the pair are seen breaking into a villa, where the angel wing adorned protagonist finds a familiar angel bust. Upon picking up the angel figurine, the homeowner stumbles upon the pair, and chases the angel-winged man outside before the story’s fateful end. A producer, songwriter, vocalist, DJ and multi-instrumentalist, Josh Pan is a jack-of-all-trades. Never sticking to any singular genre or conventional style, Josh Pan constantly reinvents the wheel of what artistic breadth can and should be. His latest “go with the fire” reflects his ever-changing artistic pursuits, and is best described as a dive into the unknown, or as Pan puts it, “going with the fire.”

Alan Fitzpatrick- A Call Out For Love

Alan Fitzpatrick has had a remarkable career to date. Few artists can claim to have headlined Berghain and had a hit on daytime BBC Radio 1, but there aren’t many artists like Alan Fitzpatrick.

One of the most popular techno DJs in the world, he has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Carl Cox and Adam Beyer for the best part of a decade, performing at the world’s biggest clubs and festivals. Known primarily for his raw hard-edged sound,  Alan has developed into one of dance music’s most versatile producers, equally at home putting out techno bangers on Drumcode as he is making disco-infused house anthems, or experimental electronica under his 3STRANGE alias, not to mention his impressive range of collaborations (including CamelPhat, Skream and Jamie Jones).

Lakou Mizik & Joseph Ray- No Rival (NERO Remix)

Anjunadeep warmly welcomes legendary electronic act NERO for their Anjunadeep debut with their remix of Lakou Mizik & Joseph Ray’s ‘No Rival!’.

The remix sees the collision of two worlds for Joseph Ray as he partners with fellow NERO founding member Daniel Stephens to reinterpret his single with Lakou Mizik. Building on the fervent, unrestrained energy of the original, the duo harness the passion of its chants, Rara horns, and percussion, to transform it into an electrifying, bass-heavy two-step anthem. The fourth single off the album ‘Leave the Bones’, ’No Rival! pays homage to Rara, the music of the Haitian streets. Just like the original, NERO’s remix of ‘No Rival!’ is full of swagger, like the bands that march through the towns of the island nation, toasting and trying to outdo one another. Retaining the spirit of the lyrics, the remix emphatically says “Listen up! There’s no better band than Lakou Mizik!”

Qrion- Proud Music Video

Fresh off releasing her brand new full-length LP ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever’, U.S.-based Japanese artist Qrion now follows up with a captivating music video for the lead single, “Proud”, directed by Japan’s Umi Ishihara in Qrion’s hometown of Sapporo.

“Proud” is an uplifting, disco-inflected dance-floor anthem, tinged with intimate sentimentality, and the music video, directed by Tokyo-based filmmaker Umi Ishihara, follows suit — a nostalgic ode to Qrion’s hometown Sapporo, shot on location in Northern Japan. The video blends retro VHS footage from the musician’s childhood with a fictionalized day-in-the-life montage of carefree, bittersweet high-school days, as four high-school girls eat ramen, take purikura together, and cycle through the city’s backstreets. The video stars contemporary dancer Tsukushi, who also expresses her own take on the track through a powerful sequence shot in a Ghibli-Esque forest evocative of the lush natural landscapes ubiquitous throughout Hokkaido, easily accessible from Sapporo’s city center.

Catz ‘N’ Dogz- Rendezvous / Nasty

Polish production legends Catz ‘n Dogz journey to Club Sweat to drop a double A-side ready to set the rave-craving animals out of their cage, releasing “Rendezvous / Nasty.” The duo have creatively crafted a double A-side oozing floor-to-floor elixir, to skillfully entice underground cavern connoisseurs. As those punters find their way to their dancefloor destination they are met with the aptly named “Rendezvous” a tech-house heater that couples deep stomping kickdrums, with underlying techno textures for an insatiable groove that is augmented by the deep yet sensual melodies of R&B vocalist Raymoane. The pace is turned up a notch on the flip-side, with stank-face inducing textures apropos for the title of “Nasty” a tune that layers the hypnotic and conspicuous vocals of Kiddy Smile over a bounce-loaded bassline with underlying rhythmic drums and sirens to evoke a bustling party atmosphere.

Marie Nyx- Elysium Remix Package

The compilation begins with Delusional co-founder Maude Vôs’ collaborative remix of “Out of the Shadows” called “Into the Light,” which she produced alongside whoistheMETRO.  The track transforms from the original into an atmospheric broken beat journey of auditory euphoria. Kana Hishiya’s remix of “Up for Air” is an ever-evolving minimal house groover with a deep bassline, catchy synth lead, bright synth stabs, and a broken beat bridge. Tau0n’s necr0mancer remix of “Occult Reveries” is a dystopian heavy-hitting techno composition with fierce growls, suspenseful builds, and a driving bassline. The compilation then comes to an end with ILAŸDA’s progressive melodic techno remix of “Out of the Shadows,” beginning with a euphonious ambient pad that builds into bold drum rhythms layered with multiple synth stabs and melodies.

Goldie- Sunlight feat. Lady Blackbird

The upcoming new album from the duo spans genres and weaves its way in and out of drum & bass, techno, electronica and soul music, stitching tapestries together to create a soundtrack that would feel as at home in the club as it would vibrating through solitary headphones. The record, which features some incredibly exciting and varied names including neo soul up and comer Greentea Peng, south London alt-jazz hero Tom Misch, and British blues and soul vocalist Natalie Duncan, shows off both the rich history and calibre of Goldie and James Davidson individually but also how they can create something together that’s so cohesive and forward thinking. The sound the duo have been able to create is also partly due to their geographical locations over the past 18 months, bouncing ideas between Davidson’s studio in Bournemouth on the south coast and Goldie’s house in Phuket, Thailand; showing two songwriters and producers at the top of their game responding to a year and a half in very different atmospheres but similar trying circumstances.
