Bishu- MISS U

Bishu gets sentimental on new single “MISS U,” a velvety piano-led track released as part of the ninth season of releases on NIGHTMODE.

Canadian producer Bishu has established himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the bass music realm. On his first standalone single, however, the genre-bending producer is turning his focus over to one of his earliest interests in electronic music by trying his hand at house music. The outcome passes with flying colors. “MISS U” revolves around the overly relatable feeling of longing for a special someone every second they are not around. The track’s affectionate vocals are pushed along by warm piano stabs, bubbling basslines, shuffling drums, sharp intermittent strings, and atonal synth riffs adding a unique color to the song. Bishu previously debuted on the label with his “XBOW” single pulled on the ‘This Is Cyberpunk’ compilation from 2020, and his return is everything we needed and more.

Seven Lions- Beyond The Veil

After a decade of music, dance music leader Seven Lions releases his first-ever album Beyond The Veil, a full-length project that fans have been waiting for since the inception of the project.

“During the pandemic, I had a lot of time to myself, a lot of time to just go for walks with my dog Khaleesi. A lot of these songs are inspired by what I was listening to at that time, when I was just alone, walking through the forest.

Tonally, this album shifted my sound a bit to a more organic sound, and one that is less reliant on synths.

This album is the first and possibly last album for me. I had an amazing time writing it and I feel like I got to tell a story that I normally can’t tell in just an EP or single. Definitely one for the long time fans. It’s something I’m incredibly proud of.” – Seven Lions

Something unhinged might be about to happen and they’re calmly dangling it over your head…

Uji- TIMEBEING

A prehistoric tribe dances around the fire. Young revelers lose themselves on a packed dancefloor. Explorers fly a rocket toward another galaxy.

In the TIMEBEING universe, these things are all connected. From the earliest days of humanity, people have strived to expand their reality beyond the limitations of the here and now — and have used technology to make it happen. Their methods and machines may have changed across the centuries, but the drive remains constant, vibrating through history and occupying a space where time loses all meaning. “The art of making music is the art of manipulating time,” says Uji“I have had experiences where time shifts dramatically; sometimes it slows down to a halt, while moments seemingly become infinite. This is where the magic happens. This is when the fabric of what we call reality begins to show its seams.”
