The weekend of August 10-12, Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival is put on by Superfly in San Francisco. Outside Lands is known for its unique blend of comedy and a wide variety of artists. But, this year they have added something new to the mix: Grasslands. Grasslands is a new “curated cannabis experience” that allows festival goers, who are over 21, to explore and learn about cannabis culture. Following the recent legalization of recreational cannabis in California, Outside Lands decided to provide its attendees with an amazing chance to tour, sample, and learn from fourteen different bud tenders.
The fourteen dispensaries that will be attending are Highland Events, Cookies SF, Ona.life, Flow Kana, CannaCraft, Kiva Confections, Lemonnade, True Terpenes, Mesh Brands, Sunday Goods, Pax Labs, Jetty Extracts, The Emerald Exchange, and Barbary Coast.
There will be five different locations to expand your knowledge of cannabis culture or try tasty treats. Visit the Smell Wall to learn how terpene’s effect strains with True Terpenes, or take a walk over to The Flower Shop to learn about Sunday Good’s old school way of growing in plain old sunlight. The Lemonade Stand will have terpene infused lemonade to help you cool off after jamming out and The Confectionery will have Kiva Confections to satisfy your sweets cravings. To enlighten yourself on all things cannabis, head over to The Greenhouse to learn everything and anything from Ona.life.
Note: There will be no cannabis products available for purchase or consumption at the festival.
But let’s not forget about what brings us to Outside Lands, to begin with, the art and music! With The Weekend, Florence and The Machine, and Janet Jackson are headlining the music portion this year and Chelsea Peretti, Michelle Wolf, and Pheobe Robinson headlining the comedy portion, this is bound to be a festival you won’t want to miss. The awe-inducing events don’t stop at comedy and music, though. Chefs Eddie Huang, Matty Matheson, Naomi Pomeroy, Hugh Acheson, and Tiffani Faison will be serving up some culinary magic in the Gastromagic area of Outside Lands. But since it is San Francisco, Outside Lands is bringing you some local flavor. Restaurants such as Guittard Chocolate Company, Belcampo Meat Co., and amazing pastry chef Melissa Chou. Music, dancing, laughs, and weed, what more could you want from a festival?
