Outside Lands Returns To San Francisco
Outside Lands is welcoming back 100,000 attendees to its annual location in the beautiful Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. The festival will be held in the summer once again on August 5th-7th, 2022 (last year it was held on Halloween weekend due to the pandemic).
“Last year’s festival was not only a cathartic experience but a much-needed celebration for the Bay Area and beyond,” said Allen Scott, Outside Lands’ co-founder, in a statement. “We can’t wait to do it all again with our Outside Lands community this August.”
Outside Lands recently announced the 2022 lineup and I couldn’t be more ecstatic as a Bay Area native. The multi-genre festival has everything music lovers want from rappers, rockstars, soulful singers, and dance music. 
When I tell you I screamed when I saw this year’s lineup, I mean the whole neighborhood could hear me. Green Day, are you kidding me?! That band was the soundtrack of my youth and I can’t believe I get to live another day and see them live. Don’t get me started on Post Malone, who also set the soundtrack for another era of my life, he is the king of my college days. And honestly still today. Sza is my girl!!! I fell in love with her when I heard her CTRL album for the first time and she hasn’t stopped since. I think the artist I’m most excited about is Illenium, I am a huge fan of Nick Miller and the lineup poster says “special hometown performance” and I’m not sure what that means, but I know it’s going to be something special.
The star-studded lineup is full of other huge acts and diverse names including Weezer, Phoebe Bridgers, Lil Uzi Vert, Kali Uchis, Anitta, Disclosure, and so much more. Jack Harlow (my crush) is on there and he just released his new album ‘Come Home The Kids Miss You’ so I know his performance is going to be full of new tunes and this year’s summer hits. Dominic Fike from HBO’s hit show Euphoria will be bringing his talents to the stage and I’ve never seen him live so that’s going to be a sweet treat.
The Soma Tent is where all the cool kids will be. It is home to some amazing EDM DJs and house music. The Soma Tent will feature artists all weekend long including Claude Vonstroke, Dixon, Tokimonsta, Ameme, Major League DJZ, Perel, and so on. Basically, if you want to dance, and I mean REALLY dance, this is where you will find yourself most of the weekend.
For those that have attended Outside Lands in the past, you know that this festival isn’t just about the music but also its art and experiences (oh, and some of the best damn food and drinks I’ve ever had at a festival). Outside Lands always welcomes some of the best vendors the region has to offer.
