Artist Biography
Paper Idol, aka Matan KG, is a Los Angeles-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who combines dance music with indie rock. He graduated with a neuroscience degree from Wesleyan University but left medical school behind to pursue music in Los Angeles and started releasing music in 2018. In the three years after he made this decision, Paper Idol amassed over 35 million streams with his stack of singles and two EPs. He has been praised by BBC Radio 1, Billboard, EDM.com, and Dancing Astronaut. His music has made it into shows such as CW’s Nancy Drew, NBC’s The Equalizer, and Disney’s SPIN. Paper Idol was featured on Yung Bae’s 2019 album Bae 5. His debut album came in 2022 titled The Playground with a deluxe release the following year. If you are a fan of Louis The Child, Whethan, and Still Woozy then you should check out his set at Bonnaroo. One day he could be the headliner you brag about seeing at the Who Stage, just saying.
