Artist Biography

Men I Trust is a dreamy indie rock band started by Laval University music students Dragos Chiriac and Jessy Caron. The pair met while in high school in the mid-2000s but they didn’t start collaborating until college. Dragos was working on a master’s in audio post-production while Jessy was finishing her bachelor’s in jazz guitar. They started a project that features a slew of guest singers that contributed to Dragos’s master’s and Ph.D. This connection to the university gave them access to much needed recording, mixing, and mastering equipment. Men I Trust officially debuted out of Montreal in 2014 with their self-titled album. A year later they dropped their next album Headroom which got them trending on streaming playlists and social media platforms. After this early success, Men I Trust tour and played at festivals around the world until they settled down in 2019 to released their third album Oncle Jazz which made the long list for the next year’s Polaris Music Prize. Their most recent releases are their Forever Live Sessions album which was recorded right after the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and their fourth album from 2021 the Untourable Album.
