Artist Biography

Cage the Elephant is one of the biggest alternative rock bands of the 2010s. The band was formed by Matt Shultz, Brad Shultz, Jared Champion, Lincoln Parish, and Daniel Tichenor. The group signed with Relentless and released their first single “Free Love” in 2007. Cage the Elephant’s follow-up single “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” came in 2008 followed by the band’s self-titled debut album featuring said single. The album was a massive success, launching the band into the spotlight. Their second album Thank You Happy Birthday debuted at number two on the album charts in 2011. Two years later, they released their third album Melophobia and soon after parted ways with their founding guitarist, Lincoln. Lincoln went on to become a producer in Nashville. Cage the Elephant’s fourth album Tell Me I’m Pretty arrived in 2015 and was produced by the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. The album won the Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2017. Their next album Social Cues came out in 2019 and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. In 2024, Cage the Elephant released their latest work, the EP Metaverse.
