Artist Biography

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit is an American southern rock band out of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The group is led by Jason Isbell who is a former member of the Drive-By Truckers. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2009 after they released the live album titled Live At Twist & Shout 11.16.07 in 2008. Jason Isbell wrote the songs for the debut album, however, the entire band contributed to the creation of the album. Since then, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit has release a handful of live albums and five studio albums, including the recent 2023 album Weathervanes. Between 2012 and 2013, Jason embraced sobriety, which fueled the 2013 album Southeastern which became the band’s breakout album that gained critic approval and grew their audience significantly. Since then, the band has become a staple in country and southern rock, selling out headline tours and being included on iconic tours such as Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Tour.
