Super Unnatural: A Halloween House Music Wonderland

Super Unnatural returned to Westworld of Scottsdale this year, bringing two nights of electrifying house music, hypnotic visuals, and an atmosphere that created the best vibes. Having attended last year, I was thrilled to see how much the festival has leveled up, especially with upgraded sound, immersive visuals, and an unforgettable overall experience.

The festival kicked off with an incredible lineup, and one of the standout sets of the first night was Eric Prydz. His energetic, upbeat performance got the crowd fully immersed and hyped, setting the perfect stage for Chris Lake. Chris Lake’s set was an absolute highlight, as he played some of his biggest hits, including “Deceiver,” “Summertime Blues,” and a new ID from Cloonee that was stuck in my head all night. The upgraded sound system was louder than ever, delivering bass that you could feel through your whole body. After night one of the festival, the party continued at Maya Dayclub for the after party with Chris Lake and we heard a brand new set from him that left us eager and ready for night two!

Night two brought even more unforgettable moments. One of the absolute highlights was the back-to-back set from Mochakk and The Martinez Brothers. It was my first time seeing either of them perform, let alone in a b2b set, and they completely exceeded my expectations. When they dropped one of my favorites “Rizzla,” the entire crowd erupted. Luckily in this moment my bestfriend and I were surrounded by a big group of friends and we were all singing and dancing together. The legendary Fatboy Slim also took the stage, delivering a classic, high-energy set filled with his iconic remixes and humor-infused visuals. It was a nostalgic and unforgettable performance.

This year’s stage setup was bigger and better than ever, with a large VIP platform in the middle and on the right side, offering a unique vantage point that made for an extra-special experience. In the center of the crowd, a walkway separated the right and left sides, where performers dressed in beautifully detailed costumes danced and put on a show during various sets. The festival layout felt spacious and well-organized, giving everyone plenty of room to dance and enjoy the music without feeling crowded.

Adding to the festival’s magic was the Halloween spirit. Everyone embraced the occasion, wearing beautiful and creative costumes. It was incredible to see people express themselves with unique outfits and makeup, bringing even more personality to the event and making the crowd feel like a festive community.

More than anything, though, this festival felt like home because the love for house music was everywhere. We met new friends along the way, and the sense of community was incredible. One of the best parts was randomly running into so many friends in the crowd. The joy of unexpectedly seeing familiar faces in such a massive space brought an unreal feeling of connection and excitement—making every moment that much more special.

Overall, Super Unnatural 2024 went above and beyond expectations. With upgraded sound, mesmerizing visuals, standout performances, and an immersive stage setup, this year’s festival was an unforgettable experience. If you’re a house music fan and haven’t been to Super Unnatural yet, mark it on your calendar for next year.
