Are you ready for some HAPPY TUNES?? Multi talented producer, songwriter, and musician AFSHEEN is bringing some levity to the world! This is done through the release of his new full-length album Happy Tunes. The album’s diverse tracks echo optimism, happiness, and gratitude, as AFSHEEN shares his deepest struggles and triumphs with listeners as they journey through the world of Happy Tunes. The album follows a boy named Alfred who is on a mission to expel an evil plaguing his beloved city. The young protagonist is guided by a vivid dream in which his older self informs him of an old music box filled with songs that come only from the happiest of places hidden in the attic of his house. Alfred’s ultimate hero journey is to spread these secret “happy tunes” throughout his hometown, via a giant pinwheel he must first build atop the town’s tallest hill, and rescue his city through music. Is he up for the challenge? You’ll just have to listen to the album to find out!
About These Happy Tunes
Each track takes a distinct approach in transporting the listener to the “happiest of places.” We’ve said it before but we’ll say it again. Everyone needs some happy tunes right now after a rollercoaster 2020 year. HAPPY TUNES features three previously released singles including “Be Happy” in addition to “F All The Stress” and “Sick Of Sad Songs”. AFSHEEN’s futuristic pop synths are recognizable from the start of the album, and gradually the album takes on groovier characteristics of liberating and bright moments.
“Doing Just Fine” strikes the listener with a funky sound distinct from the tracks previous to it. AFSHEEN’s nonchalant approach to lyrics and the use of saxophone instrumentation introduces a new retro vibe listening experience. This is continually echoed in the next track “I’ll Be Loved”. It’s all peace and love intertwined in melodic house grooves used to remind the protagonist’s city inhabitants (the world) that love is all around and lives in each individual. Loving the positive vibes here!
“New Day” delivers hints of old-school electronic music in an instrumental piece used to tie together the entirety of the project. The album captures AFSHEEN’s different styles, various influences, and bubbly personality in a heroic emotive trip to infect all with glimmering happy thoughts.
