Bass Camp Festival
We’re heading to the Bass Camp! It all goes down on Saturday, July 23 at the gorgeous Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. The venue will be hosting the fifth annual Bass Camp Festival. This is an outdoor EDM festival held at the beautiful lakeside resort. If you’ve never been to Lake Tahoe- now is the time to check it out! This year’s festival will be headlined by two EDM duos, SLANDER, who’s song “Love is Gone” recently went gold, and Adventure Club, who’s performance at Bass Camp Festival V will be one of the last shows on their LOVE // CHAOS 2022 tour. Acclaimed British songwriter Frank Turner has announced the livestream of his Sunday, June 19 show in Philadelphia, PA at The Fillmore on his forthcoming “50 States In 50 Days” tour. Partnering with premium concert streaming platform Veeps, The 51st State Live Online is an addition to Turner’s upcoming ambitious journey through the U.S. that will hit each and every state. Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter chae continues her debut R&B solo EP rollout with a nostalgia-ridden – yet fully infectious – lead single, “I Tried”. The latest offering reveals to listeners another chapter of chae’s self-reflective story in her forthcoming EP, Letters I’ll Never Write, showcasing a memoir from a chapter of her life, wrapped in promise of unconditional love. Due for release on June 24th, chae’s debut EP sees her embark on a journey through vulnerability and self-love. Serving as the third single off of her highly-anticipated EP, “I Tried” is out now across all platforms.

The “Doomscroller” video is the next piece in Metric’s ongoing collaboration with photographer/visual artist Justin Broadbent. “Justin captured rare studio footage of the recording of ‘Doomscroller’ and we used it like a visual anchor, as evocative places outside the room keep creeping in,” says the band’s Emily Haines. “These traces of life on earth that appear and disappear throughout the song subtly mirror the shifting moods of the music.”

Sampling the American girl group 3LW’s 2000 hit “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right)”, since its creation and debut UK Festival play at Lost Village last year by Kieran, this infectious club hit has been doing the rounds picking support from the likes of Floating Points, Ben UFO, Avalon Emerson, Fred Again, Peggy Gou and Skrillex. With fans and track IDers alike demanding for an official release, Four Tet recently announced the sample had cleared to a joyous reception. Premiered by Pete Tong as his “Essential New Tune” on BBC Radio 1, “Looking At Your Pager” is a chugging yet starry and flirtatious club wriggler everyone will have on repeat this summer.

Savage Republic- Meteora
Los Angeles-based post-punk band Savage Republic just released their new album Meteora in North America via Mobilization Recordings (order). In anticipation of Friday’s release date the band is sharing the official video for the album’s title track. On the song Savage Republic’s Thom Fuhrmann says, “‘Meteora’ is a song about about a place in a country where the people mean so very much to us. A song about how I’d like to be remembered. And a song dedicated to the memory of someone that did so much for this band throughout the years. Rest in Power Babis…”
ARMNHMR x Nurko- Won’t Make A Sound feat. Micah Martin
Leading Asian-American dance duo ARMNHMR continue on their upward trajectory this year, linking with producer and instrumentalist NURKO for their poignant new single, “Won’t Make A Sound” featuring singer-songwriter Micah Martin. Out on Monstercat today, the bass-meets-screamo ballad sees ARMNHMR switch gears from their usual uplifting, heartwarming melodies, to hard-hitting, emotive drops that confront pain and letting go. The song “Burning” refers to the 2021 Caldor wildfire that threatened Child Seat’s Madeleine Mathews‘ hometown and wiped-out hundreds of thousands of acres of land that she’d hiked and traversed throughout her youth as well as a small nearby town. “Burning” is a reminder that life throws us curveballs, including losing the things we love most. Nothing is set in stone, and nothing lasts forever. With the 2020 pandemic, it often especially felt like one roadblock after another was arising. Yet, the world keeps turning and life/time keeps charging forward even when the going gets tough. Brooks & Mo Falk – Take My Breath Away
‘Take My Breath Away’ started two years ago when Mo Falk orchestrated an instagram stunt to get Brooks’ attention. Posting various Instagram stories stating he would ‘’eat a shoe’’ if a collaboration between him and Brooks were to ever happen, loads of people latched onto the idea and shared the story with Brooks until it made its way into his DMs. Reaching out to Mo Falk unexpectedly, he liked the track the latter shared with him and decided to turn it into a collaboration. Eventually managing to get together for an in-person studio session they revised the whole track, creating a new song to fit the newly opening club and festival scene. The end result is an energetic festival banger with an innovative bassy twist.
Drove, Discrete & Tudor – Some Kind Of Love
For their brand new track ‘Some Kind Of Love’, Drove have teamed up with Swedish DJ/producer Discrete and UK-based singer songwriter Tudor. The track takes you to a place where you’ve found love and the only thing on your mind is the person you’ve fallen in love with. The soothing soundscape and vocals perfectly represent the feeling and take you on a journey of finding love and devoting yourself to that love fully. Getting in touch online by sending over demos, Drove and Discrete planned sessions to work on music in early 2022.
