Peace, Love, Unity, Respect- The PLUR Way
Have you ever walked into that show and felt so accepted? I know I have. You walk in and it’s like magic walking through those doors. Girls tell you your outfit is great. Lots of smiles and love. Overall, the vibes at a rave are like that. Of course, you’ll find negative vibes from time to time, but overall, the vibes are just magnificent. Don’t you agree?? I feel that Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect is highly ingrained into our culture. The PLUR vibes are real.
Overall, PLUR represents how one should act at a concert. If you aren’t showing the PLUR vibes, people tend to get upset. It’s generally accepted that you should be peaceful with one another, love one another, show unity for ALL groups of people, and respect all the people at a concert. Peace, Love, Unity, Respect
Where Did PLUR come from?
PLUR has an interesting history. DJ Frankie Bones is typically credited with coining the term. A fight broke out at one of his shows and he said, “If you don’t start showing some peace, love, and unity, I’ll break your faces!” While that may not have been the most PLUR thing to say, the concept really stuck. People need to be showing others respect.
I’ve mentioned this in previous blog posts, but if you ever saw the EDC movie, you might understand what I am saying. Tommie Sunshine said,
“These are all the kids who ate lunch by themselves in high school. These are the loners and they stumbled upon this and thought, woah, I belong here.”
I mean, how powerful is that statement? The love and acceptance is REAL.
I chose to write this post because of what the United States is going through right now. Too many people aren’t loved and accepted, especially by those in power. I am writing this to remind everyone of how PLUR needs to be practiced outside of the rave scene as well. EVERYONE should be adopting the PLUR lifestyle into your everyday lives. It doesn’t matter what color your skin is, you deserve respect. I’m not preaching the all lives matter statement, because while I believe every person deserves respect, right now we are focusing on and fighting for our black brothers and sisters. You are important. We stand with you. If you are Hispanic, Native, Black, or Asian, YOU are valued.
Don’t forget, show peace, love, unity, and respect in your everyday lives. It is so important to do so. There is NO room for racism in our culture.

I am contacting you regarding the incident that occurred at 100 High Park Avenue on May 27th, 2020. I am a concerned Canadian citizen who would like to express my anger and concern over the death of 29 year old Regis Korchinski-Paquet. She has died after allegedly falling off her balcony, despite police being present. As a concerned citizen, I am very upset and disturbed at the events that took place and the allegations that this was caused on the part of the police. I want justice for her death and I demand answers. As a citizen, I demand for the “transparency and accountability” as well as the “disclosure of as much information as possible to the public” that have on all accounts been specified on the SIU webpage. Charges need to be brought to all the officers involved, and all information and evidence should be made available to the public.
