Briscoe

Artist Biography

Briscoe is an indie folk duo consisting of longtime friends Philip Lupton and Truett Heintzelman. The pair met in their grade school days at summer camp in a Parent Trap way as both of them had red hair, freckles, and were wearing the same shoes at their first meeting. Phil had brought his travel guitar to camp, and the pair jammed all summer culminating with them performing in the closing night talent show where they did a cover of John Prine’s “Paradise.” The pair kept in touch and eventually found themselves meeting again at the University of Texas Austin in 2020. During the pandemic, they organized some house shows in backyards and built a huge following as live music was mostly dead at the time. The pair called themselves Briscoe and saw great successes following the pandemic, playing Innings Festival where they shared a stage with Tame Impala and making appearances at SXSW.
