Artist Biography

Hermanos Gutiérrez is the duo of brothers Alejandro and Stephan (nee Estevan) Gutiérrez-Holtz that vibes with instrumental western and Latin Americana. The brothers are of Ecuadorian and Swiss descent, spending their childhood in Switzerland and wanting to follow in their guitarist father’s footsteps. They use traditional guitar, lap steel, and natural percussion like bongos to evoke emotion through instrumentals that paint landscapes of the western arcana. The brothers drew inspiration from spaghetti western soundtracks and classic psychedelia. They mixed these with classic Latin and South American music from the mid-1900s and packaged it into their debut album 8 Anos which appeared in 2017. From the start, Hermanos Gutiérrez locked themselves in as Latin Americana psychedelia. So much so that Dan Auerbach, yes the guy from the Black Keys who owns Easy Eye Sound, produced their latest 2022 album El Bueno y el Malo where he sits in on one track titled “Tres Hermanos.”
