Winter Sports Fests: More than just sick tricks!
I’m sure we all have several different interests such as sports and other hobbies we do in our spare time. For us here in Colorado, including myself, most of us have a huge passion for skiing and snowboarding. Why not blend festivals, adrenaline pumped snow sports, dope art, unique brands, and music? Well, it’s being done and you should check it out! Even if you are not a skier or boarder yourself, many people find themselves watching events where the best of the best come to really showcase their skills to thousands of people, bundled up and having a blast!
Already sounds sick enough, but what a lot of people don’t know about events such as the XGAMES, DEWTOUR, and the BURTON US OPEN is that it’s a giant party up in the mountains. For several years these events have been happening at epic proportions with some amazing artists coming to play with all these amazing athletes. Even though it’s usually below freezing, I promise you won’t be any bit cold. But of course, dress properly!
DEW TOUR is an event put on by, you guessed it, Mountain Dew; that is held in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. This year it will be held December 13-16 2018. DEW TOUR is a contest series that brings together the top skateboarders, snowboarders, skiers, artists, brands and fans to one place to celebrate a diverse and artistic community. You get to watch it all and experience it all in one place. A lot of the experiences will be free to the general public, and DEW TOUR’s headliner band this year is The Motet!

XGAMES is held in the legendary Aspen Snowmass, Colorado, known for its natural physically beautiful features, and phenomenal skiing. This year it will be held January 24-27 2019. XGAMES brings the party to this years 2019 event with headliners Lil Wayne, The Chainsmokers, Louis The Child, and Kygo. And of course they do not hesitate to throw DJ sets around the event throughout the day to keep you pumped all weekend long! They will also have several artists and brands to gaze at while you’re digging all the rad snow skills around you. Definitely a snow experience of a lifetime!

The BURTON US OPEN is held in the exquisite Vail, Colorado where many find themselves in a massive snowy wonderland. This year The BURTON US OPEN will be held from February 25- March 2, 2019. The BURTON US OPEN has not yet determined which artists will be performing this year, but do not be deterred. Last two years lineup included Keys N Krates, Twiddle, The Record Company, and Damian “JR. GONG” Marley. Even better, these music events are completely FREE to the public to attend! The BURTON US OPEN will also have art, merchandise, food, drinks, etc. for you to really fulfill your mountain festival get away experience! All of these wonderful Colorado based towns will have much more than just the event experience for you to enjoy. Colorado is known for its amazing terrain and many different sports you can involve yourself in as well as many well-known restaurants and breweries! I would highly recommend getting to know a little more about Colorado on your journey out here!
