Watch: 8Kays Live at Kharkiv Philarmonic by TIME:CODE
This video was filmed in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on January 24, 2022, exactly one month before Russia revealed the full-scale war on multiple Ukraine cities.
The music you’ll be hearing is an original work of art by Iryna Shvydka, aka 8Kays. Iryna’s life, like many others, was drastically altered, but she persevered and continued to create music in order to make the world a better place.
Innellea- Concrete Jungle
Following the extraordinary success of his Distorted Youth EP back in February and the internationally celebrated global rollout of his subsequent debut live tour concept, German producer and creative visionary Innellea now looks to continue his prolific run of 2022 form with the launch of his latest multifaceted project, Transhumanism.
A ground-breaking three-part EP and NFT concept – the latter part of which was created alongside pioneering Hamburg-based Art Director and Media Designer Alexander Trattler – Transhumanism will be released as three new singles over the course of the next four weeks, commencing with the first single Concrete Jungle and an exclusive NFT art drop.
NYC singer-songwriter D’Arcy shares a brand new single entitled “Ecstasy.”
Speaking on the new track, D’Arcy wrote:
Work Wife + Mary Hood- Drown Me Out
The first in Brooklyn-by-way-of-Seattle indie pop artist Work Wife’s series of collaboratively-written tracks with other female artists in the Brooklyn indie scene, “Drown Me Out” was co-written with upstate New York native Mary Hood. The track describes their shared experience of being told how to live your life by someone who hasn’t walked in your shoes. A true collab, Meredith Lampe (of Work Wife) brought the half-finished song containing only the verse groove to Mary, who wrote the super catchy chorus. After getting in a room together to flesh out the lyrics, they came up with the outro together on the spot. Work Wife’s collab series was meant to foster community and collaboration, and this track serves as a true kickoff to the series as the two songwriters created a friendship along with the song.
JODA- Shape of Your Heart
Anjunabeats presents ‘Shape Of Your Heart’, the latest single from JODA, aka Jono Grant and Darren Tate. The buoyant, floor-filling epic straight out of an ‘80s workout video (or the director’s cut of Flashdance) is featured on JODA’s forthcoming self-titled album, out August 26.
JODA is a fresh musical pairing with shared DNA. Both together and apart, Jono Grant and Darren Tate have been there, done that, and bought the vintage synth gear to celebrate. ‘Shape Of Your Heart’ was the first track the duo worked on under the JODA moniker, an optimistic reflection of their frame of mind approaching this new project.
Faouzia- Anybody Else (JONAH Remix)
Malta-born, Vegas-based DJ and producer Jonah Vella – aka JONAH – proves his musical mettle with a sensational remix of Faouzia’s ‘Anybody Else’ – out now via Atlantic Records.
The second single to come from the rising star, JONAH provides a sympathetic electronic rework of Faouzia’s original. Allowing Faouzia’s spellbinding vocals to take the lead, Jonah deftly conjures an orchestral style soundscape with soaring strings, building up to a dramatic big room house drop that takes the single to a new dimension.
The Happy Fits- Do Your Worst
Lively alt/indie-pop trio The Happy Fits are on a roll, taking the world by storm, and showing no signs of slowing down. Finally, today, they announce their highly-anticipated third studio album, Under The Shade of Green, available for pre-order now, along with a heavier track, “Do Your Worst” and its accompanying pineapple-filled video.
Black Hole Recordings
Trance titan Shogun is back at it again with his latest 2022 masterpiece, “Striker.” Having recently released his first original of the year, “Nezuko,” an official remix for Conjure One & Jeza’s “Wolves At The Door,” and tapped the legendary Andy Moor for remix duty on his hit, “Under My Skin,” Shogun continues to prove that he is nowhere near ready for a break; he is barely getting started. This determination and drive are further encapsulated in his latest offering, “Striker.” “Striker” is out now via Black Hole Recordings.
Black Sea Records
Franky Perez- Crossing the Great Divide
Born To Win Records
Patricia Baloge- Victory
Exuding a hypnotic soundscape from the very first beat, Victory opens with sparse percussion and eerie synths before a bouncy bassline is added into the mix. Introducing her alluring vocals, the instrumental arrangement is intricately laced around her distinctive singing and spoken words. Juxtaposing sharp and soft sonic elements, this multi-textured creation readies listeners for what is yet to come, and expresses Patricia’s daring and uncompromising musical prowess.
Broke Royals- All I Have To Show
“‘All I Have To Show’ is about starting over in the wake of generational trauma. The song combines stories from several real acquaintances of mine. For some people the only answer in the face of abuse is to leave town and start again. This song presents that story in a hopeful light. Two people in love heading out on the road to escape. At the end of the day, having each other is enough.” -Philip Basnight
Castle Face Records
OSEES- Perm Act
OSEES have shared “Perm Act,” the second single off their forthcoming album, A Foul Form, due August 12 via Castle Face Records. The new track comes alongside a music video featuring animation by John Harlow.
Speaking on their new video, John Dwyer wrote:
“Who likes a cop?
After years of having unpleasant to violent encounters with police, I had the thought that wouldn’t it be fun if they loved each other so much they ate each other…a sort of dark comedy contemporary and executive branch based ‘a modest proposal.’
The violence would hit such a high pitch that they just frenzied like sharks with chum.
I saw with my own eyes two of the biggest knuckleheads i grew up with go on to have careers in law enforcement emulating the beatings they regularly took when they would mouth off to a cop.
These guys were most definitely not fit for gun ownership, let alone policing others.
Good luck out there.”
Guards- Everything I Wanted (Billie Eilish Cover) feat. Madeline Follin
NYC Indie rock stalwarts Guards are back with the announcement of a brand new covers album, More Cover Songs, due August 2 via CGR. Today, they have shared the LP’s first single, “Everything I Wanted” [Billie Eilish Cover], ft. Madeline Follin.
Automhate- SPAGHETTI DUB & MEXICAN RIDDIM
Hailing from Italy, Automhate, the 22-year-old riddim/dubstep producer, has had a big year, to say the least. Starting out as a frequent on the digital record label “Riddim Network,” Automhate would soon be collaborating with significant artists on the scene such as K-NINE & MONXX just within 2020, then sparking the highly anticipated “Terminhate” EP on Disciple: Round Table. With viral tracks like Tonal Riddim and Solo, Automhate made his mark in the music industry and his music production is recognized. Releasing on major labels like Halcyon, Disciple, Never Say Die, Buygore, and Subsidia, Automhate is one to go for upcoming years.
The band is pleased to present the never-before-released single, “Kindergarten” from the forthcoming album. The song debuted today at Consequence along with an exclusive interview with the band’s Ramesh Srivastava on five things that influenced the track.
Deep Root Tribe
Another deeply atmospheric Afro-influenced track from Haitian producer Francis Mercier, whose song ‘Sete’ with Blond:ish and Amadou & Mariam is one of the breakout dancefloor hits of the year, reaching #2 on Beatport, garnering praise in Billboard, and play from Pete Tong, Black Coffee and Claptone. This time, Mercier teams up with Zimbabwe’s Afro-house king Nitefreak, and introduces newcomer Lenny Auguste, a singer from the historic city of Gonaives where Haiti’s independence was first declared in 1804. The lyrics, sung in Haitian Creole, are a heartfelt plea for freedom and hope, and a defiant demand for social justice, amid the ongoing troubles in Mercier and Auguste’s homeland. ‘Ayibobo’ has already received early DJ support from such tastemakers as Themba and Pablo Fierro.
Delusional 1 Year Anniversary VA Compilation
The imprint is dually celebrating PRIDE Month and their first-year milestone birthday with the Delusional 1 Year Anniversary VA Compilation – a 15-track package of left-field sounds designed primarily on modular sythesizers and analog gear by female, LGBTQIA+, nonbinary and BIPOC producers.
The label’s co-founders anchor the compilation via their own individual productions – Vôs with the propulsive, spacious “iele,” and Nyx with the extraterrestrial techno track “Asteria.”
Slushii- Forever With U
Dim Mak is pleased to welcome acclaimed producer/DJ Slushii to its roster. And what better time than the present for copious amounts of Slushii? The next three months will be all about the electrifying artist as the label presents “A Slushii Summer.” This unique campaign will feature a new Slushii original track released each Friday this summer, culminating with a 15-track album on September 23rd.
“A Slushii Summer” kicks off this Friday, June 24 with the single “Forever With U.” The euphoric, melody-rich single joins elements of chiptune and pop into an experience that’s all warm and positive vibes.
Heavy Heaters Compilation
Dirtybird is taking a listen back to some of the finest, dark gems from across the label catalog with the release of ‘Heavy Heaters’, the 12-track compilation out now.
After 17 years of releasing music, Dirtybird Records has put out an extensive range of genres and styles, including creating some of their own. Marking the label’s second compilation of 2022, ‘Heavy Heaters’ strikes a different tone than its predecessor ‘Deep Cutz’. Exploring the experimental side of techno and house music, Dirtybird has selected the edgier sounds from its catalog for ‘Heavy Heaters’, music made for a dark room, massive stage, dank warehouse or sweaty underground.
Dirtybird Heavy Heaters Tracklist

Fortune Teller Music
Peter Matthew Bauer- Skulls
Peter Matthew Bauer shares “Skulls,” the second single off his announces his next LP, Flowers, due September 23 via Fortune Tellers Music.
“Skulls” is sprawling rock & roll song carried by a Peter’s vocals and waterfalling guitar solos over a bed of farfisa organs, booming drums by Matt Barrick (Walkmen, Fleet Foxes, Muzz), bass playing by Charlie Anastasis (Liily) and backups by Marisa Brown and Hillary Ashen. It’s a weird original sound that is entirely modern but strangely out of time.
Biblioteka- Pretty Ugly
Seattle garage rock outfit Biblioteka share their brand new album, Pretty Ugly (out today via Freakout Records).
Biblioteka’s Pretty Ugly chronicles the band’s personal experiences during the pandemic. “Tick Tock” and “Waiting For Nothing” explore feelings of paranoia due to isolation and drug use. The band was inspired to write “Where Did We Go Wrong” after surviving an attack from a knife-wielding man in an alleyway. The song took on a new meaning when Robins’ family was in Ukraine in the midst of the invasion. The band digresses with anti-capitalist rock anthems “Corporate Whore” and Los Microwaves’ cover “TV In My Eye.”
Smokey Brights- Ocean Shores
Perseverance through troubled times has a subtle shine and Seattle’s Smokey Brights have been shining through these times with songs of hope, determination, compassion, defiance and love. The very first band signed to Seattle label Freakout Records, the group quickly released a number of albums and a slew of singles while simultaneously hitting the road, playing across the US and Europe. A new record was ready to be released and a year of tours booked to support it, but the dark cloud of 2020 came down and, well, no one said perseverance was easy. Smokey Brights shined on, releasing the album I Love You But Damn in July of 2020. The record garnered rave reviews and the support of independent radio, eventually landing on KEXP’s top albums of the year. Confined to their rehearsal space the group kept grinding, hammering out new material and honing their performance to a razor’s edge. Finally able to tour again, the band is fresh off a European tour and pleased to present Ocean Shores, the third single to be released in 2022.
Friends and Lovers
Hayden Arp- Passenger
Hayden Arp is sharing “Passenger,” the first single to be lifted from his debut LP With Eliza. The track and lyric video debuted today at Dusty Organ along with an exclusive interview with Hayden. The song, which will be on all streaming platforms this Friday, is a rumination on memory, intimacy, and the difficulty of writing it all down. The process of writing “Passenger” started, alongside the entire With Eliza album, in August of 2018, when Arp was living in Richmond, VA.
Drake- Honestly, Nevermind (Wax Motif Edit)
After selling out his first headlining show at Hollywood Palladium earlier this month, Wax Motif has unveiled four free edits from Drake’s recently released album, Honestly, Nevermind – an ambitious task that further showcases Wax’s consistently grand sensibilities. Inspired by the cohesive dance sound from one of the world’s biggest hip-hop acts, Wax Motif transforms the rapper’s minimal house-rap tracks into explosive, club-ready reworks.
Klova- Happy Sadness
Klova packs a punch with his newest single, Happy Sadness! The track is reminiscent of Illenium, Seven Lions, and Porter Lions and you’ll be adding this to your playlist in no time. Sometimes you can be happy even within the depths of sadness and this track illustrates that!
Loren Berí- Genesis 2.0
Brooklyn-based synth-pop artist, Loren Berí, releases his glimmering fourth single, “Genesis 2.0“–a deeply personal track that allows Berí to process his father’s death, understanding the grief is never quite finished, and accepting this reality. Similar to Beri’s recent releases, today’s offering brings listeners back into the fictionalized version of New York City created by the musician, called the Stray Cat Kingdom. Loren Berí’s debut EP of the same name, a five-track collection written and recorded by Berí, is due out July 20, 2022 and available for pre-order now.
Reignwolf- The Woods feat. Brad Wilk
Jordan Cook, aka Reignwolf, tells Billboard, “Wilk means ‘Wolf’ in Polish, and they went into ‘The Woods’ together…” “The Woods” was recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, CA, and written by Jordan Cook, who is also on vocals, guitar and bass. The iconic Brad Wilks is on drums, and the track was mixed by Grammy-nominated Tony Hoffer and mastered by multi-award winning, world-renowned engineer, Howie Weinberg.
Shoffy- Nightmares in NYC
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and producer, Shoffy specializes in pop and electronic music. Thus far in his career, the multi-instrumentalist has gathered support from The Fader, Billboard Magazine, Idolator, Clash Magazine + more, charted on Billboard, US Top 40 Radio, Spotify Viral charts and has headlined two national tours.
His new single “Nightmares In NYC” highlights his hybrid approach towards production and songwriting taking elements of pop, hip-hop and electronic music and fusing it into one cohesive sound. This song is the first piece of music off of his forthcoming album and will have a music video coming on July 1st.
The Steens- What A Way To Die
The Steens are two brothers from Orange County, CA. They formed their band in 2021 using their surname. Naming the band was an easy decision with the duo’s sound and vision being firmly planted in their roots. This is their debut single.
Thomas Abban- Don’t Leave
“This EP was made alone by me. It consists of songs predating my last album which I was unable to release. The EP was crafted with certain styles and emotions in mind. I had a particular sound I was pursuing for this project that I wanted to explore within a smaller medium like an EP. I wanted something with a more immediate core yet with deep and distant surroundings. The first person I played it for called it ‘Ambienic.'”
CID- La La La
Haunted Summer- Whole
Back on Valentine’s Day, Haunted Summer released a dreamy cover of Daniel Johnston’s “You Put My Love Out the Door” as the first single off their upcoming album. Now, on the first day of summer, June 21, the Los Angeles-based band unveils the entire LP, Whole.
Eyedress- SPAGHETTI feat. HOMESHAKE
Manila-born, Los Angeles-based rising star Eyedress confirms his new album FULL TIME LOVER is set for release on August 26 via Lex Records; Pre-order/pre-save HERE. Today, he shares a new song from the forthcoming LP, “SPAGHETTI” featuring HOMESHAKE.
Space Fight- Do You Dream In The Daylight
Writing began for the Space Fight album Do You Dream In The Daylight around the start of the pandemic, when the members of Space Fight found themselves in lockdown. What started with a few files being shared from New Jersey to Japan between vocalist/keyboardist/bassist Spen Miles and guitarist Tom Welch, soon became over 20 demos by the end of 2020. A lot of the material was influenced by the state of the world at that time, and the fact that both men (or really their wives) were bringing babies into that turbulent world.
Mind of a Genius
Mindchatter- Math (Westend Remix)
Mindchatter unveils an electric new remix of the album single “Math,” inviting tech-house maestro Westend for a lively reimagination.
“Math (Westend Remix)” is a sparkling, club-ready interpretation of the original’s minimal, industrial atmosphere. Westend, who’s one of Beatport’s best-selling tech-house producers, finds common ground with Mindchatter’s psychedelic, vocal-driven electronica, imbuing the artist’s indie-pop dance aesthetic with an assortment of pulsating basslines and futuristic synths.
Crankdat- Ding Dong
Papa Khan- Lost
Indonesian bass aficionado Papa Khan today revealed the rest of his anticipated EP, ‘LOST’ on Monstercat. Following fan-favourite singles like “The Tide” and “Get To U,” he stuns with a slice of shimmering dubstep on “So Far Away.” The package sees him transition from angsty lyricism and heartbreak, to melodic motifs and affection, all while remaining sonically cohesive. Papa Khan’s colour bass craftsmanship has positioned him as a leader in the resurgence of the genre, with ‘LOST’ indicative of his promising future.
Child Seat- If This Is The End
Los Angeles-based band Child Seat are sharing “If This Is The End” the latest single to be lifted from the band’s anticipated debut album Bad Holiday out August 5 via Moonboot! Records (pre-order). The official video for the song debuted today at Treble Zine and the song will be on all streaming platforms this Friday.
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs- Forever
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs shares new single ‘Forever’ ahead of the release of his sophomore album When the Lights Go, released on September 9th through his new label Nice Age.
There has always been something personal and universal about Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs music. Inhabiting a push-pull of outwardly facing dance-floor fillers and introspective heartfelt storytelling, Orlando’s new single ‘Forever’ expands this dichotomy further.
Vancouver-based producer Juelz returns to NIGHTMODE with his sophomore single after last year’s “Pour All Night” feat. rapper Thelonious. His follow-up effort “Eden” is a heavy-hitting wave creation carrying an entrancing vocal hook, ominous pads, and roaring synth leads that hit violently above intricate breakbeat patterns and rumbling low-end. He’s previously dropped collabs alongside Tails, Quix, Krane, Hex Cougar, Montell2099, and has garnered support from RL Grime and A-Trak.

Paix Per Mil
Hunjiya- TALK2ME! and FAVORITE
“My new album is brimming with themes: Code switching- how you change yourself slightly depending on who you’re with and what is happening. The concept of a chameleon- how the animal changes colors based on what environment they’re in. In this case, I am the chameleon, and my behaviors, feelings, actions, etc. are all changing based on the situation. People give the advice of “being yourself” but they don’t talk about how there’s not just one version of yourself. There’s multiple that add up to who you are. As for the title itself, chameleon comes from the Greek word “khamai” meaning “on the ground, earth” and “leon” meaning “lion” (Hunjiya herself is a leo).”
Paper Bag Records
Art d’Ecco- Run Away
Canadian glam rock artist/producer Art d’Ecco shares “Run Away,” the final single off his brand new album, After The Head Rush (out today via Paper Bag Records).
Speaking on his new single, Art wrote:
“‘Run Away’ is a road trip song. I was trying to capture that feeling of autonomy and freedom one feels when they buy their first car and a whole new world opens up. Pile in, fill it up and skip town. It is a rite of passage for many, and a defining moment in my life came when I could finally break free and crank up that stereo.”
Zoon- Big Pharma EP
The release of Big Pharma follows Zoon’s critically acclaimed debut album, Bleached Wavves (which was shortlisted for the Polaris Prize in 2021). Recently, Zoon shared an Apple Music Home Session, featuring stripped-down versions of songs off Bleached Wavves and a cover of My Morning Jackets‘ “Sooner.” The new session’s description reads: “Recording with Michael Peter Olsen (who’s laid down strings for the likes of Drake, Arcade Fire, and k-os), Zoon remakes a pair of Bleached Wavves cuts—“Vibrant Colours” and “Light Prism”—as acoustic dream-pop hymns redolent of a coffeehouse Galaxie 500. But he still infuses them with just enough textural detail (shimmering strings and nature sounds on the former, noctural twang on the latter) to retain their essential otherworldly vibe.”
Julia Wolf- Hot Killer
New York indie-pop artist Julia Wolf has released an ambitious new track titled “Hot Killer” – her second this year, following “R.I.P. To The Club,” which was released in March. “Hot Killer” comes on the heels of her show-stopping performance at Governor’s Ball, which garnered coverage from Rolling Stone, Gothamist, and others, and arrives as the first single from her forthcoming debut album via BMG. In October 2021, she released her 8-track debut EP, Girls In Purgatory, that E! News said “has [them] hooked” and LADYGUNN called “an ode to self worth.”
Pretty Swede Records / theory

Noah Cyrus- Ready to Go
Noah Cyrus has released yet another spellbinding track taken from her forthcoming debut album ‘The Hardest Part,’ set for release on September 16 [RECORDS/Columbia Records]. Produced by Tommy English and Mike Crossey, ‘Ready To Go’ details the demise of a broken relationship, as Noah succumbs to the realization it’s over. Noah shares: “I call this song “July’s sister song” due to their similarity in lyrics, but in actuality they’re really more like cousins. They’re about different people, entirely different storylines, and each brings up different memories and emotions. In a way, I see a lot of growth in myself from who I was then and who I am now, but at the same time it’s still impossible for me to walk away from people I love, even when it’s harmful to myself.” Earlier today, Noah joined Zane Lowe on his Apple Music show, New Music Daily to discuss the track.

Sandór Waïss- Broken Blue
Parisian artist and producer Sandór Waïss today releases Broken Blue. The third act taken from his debut album project of the same name, Broken Blue arrives today with a self-directed cinematic music video.
Gliding between pop and electronic, Broken Blue is the final act in Sandór Waïss’ three-part opening cinematic story.
